Selina thought of her boyfriend as Kristine's probing fingers continued their ministrations. He'd promised to stand by her during his visits immediately after her arrest. As the court proceedings had continued though, he'd drifted away. She had yet to receive a reply for her last letter, mailed the day after her conviction. Ten years was a long time to wait for someone. She was sure that by now he was already well on the way to letting go.
